Obasa’s Invasion: Meranda Calls It a “Show of Shame”

Ousted Speaker Mudashiru Obasa stormed the Lagos State House of Assembly again on Friday, February 28, with a group of thugs. Meanwhile, Speaker Mojisola Meranda and 34 lawmakers attended a court hearing regarding Obasa’s case.

Meranda Condemns the Act

Reacting to the incident, Meranda called the invasion a “show of shame” and urged everyone to follow the law. Furthermore, she revealed that authorities had drastically reduced her security team.

Fake Plenary, Real Drama

Reports claimed that Obasa held a “plenary” with only three lawmakers. However, Meranda dismissed it, arguing that lawmakers must meet the required number to hold a valid session.

Lawmakers Trust the Court

In response to the ongoing crisis, House Committee Chairman Stephen Ogundipe accused Obasa of causing unnecessary drama. Moreover, he expressed confidence that the court would eventually expose the truth.

Assembly Stands Strong

Despite Obasa’s return with more supporters, lawmakers reassured Lagosians that they remain in control. As a result, they urged the public to remain calm while the legal process unfolds.
