The African Patriots Forum (APF) has urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State to respect court rulings and stop playing political games. They emphasized that good governance requires compliance with the law.

The APF praised members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaehwule, for choosing legal action instead of violence. They commended the lawmakers for their commitment to democracy and justice. The Supreme Court recently confirmed their legitimacy, which the APF described as a major step forward for good governance.

Dr. Lanre Solomon, the Global President of APF, acknowledged the lawmakers’ dedication to democracy and the people’s interests. He admired their courage in defending what is right, even when faced with challenges. He said their efforts restored hope among the people, proving that their voices matter.

The APF also criticized Governor Fubara for ignoring the rule of law. They called on him to follow the Supreme Court’s decision without delay. The group warned that continued defiance could lead to chaos in the state. They urged the governor to put the state’s interests first.

The APF encouraged stakeholders in Rivers State to support the lawmakers. They stressed that democracy is not just about winning elections, but also about fairness and justice.

Finally, the APF said that lawmakers’ efforts highlight the importance of strong institutions and respect for the rule of law. They expressed hope that this commitment to justice would inspire others to protect democratic values and promote good governance.
