Ukraine has intensified its drone attacks on Russian energy facilities. Recently, one of the strikes targeted the Rosneft oil refinery in Ryazan, Russia. The explosion killed one worker and injured three others. It happened during maintenance when equipment lost pressure.
Refinery Suffers Another Hit
The refinery processes about 262,000 barrels of oil daily. This output makes up nearly 5% of Russia’s refining capacity. Earlier this year, Ukrainian drones also hit the same refinery. That attack forced a temporary shutdown.
Drone Strike on Moscow
Ukraine also launched a major drone strike on Moscow. This was the second attack on the Russian capital in three days. The strike targeted an oil refinery near President Vladimir Putin’s residence on the Black Sea. Ten explosions rocked the site and triggered a large fire. Over 120 emergency workers rushed to contain the flames.
Disruptions Across Moscow
The drone attacks caused major disruptions in Moscow. Authorities temporarily closed Vnukovo airport. Several areas near government and embassy buildings also reported damage. These strikes came after Russia rejected a ceasefire proposal from the United States.
Putin Dismisses Ceasefire Offer
The U.S. recently proposed a 30-day ceasefire to ease tensions. However, President Putin refused, demanding that the West stop arming Ukraine first. His stance has escalated the conflict. Both countries continue to launch drone and missile strikes, causing widespread destruction and loss of life.
Border Tensions and Military Buildup
Russian forces are gathering along Ukraine’s border. This buildup has raised fears of a larger conflict. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Putin of dragging out the war by rejecting peace efforts. The global community urges both nations to consider diplomatic solutions to avoid further bloodshed.
