The United States has carried out new airstrikes against Yemen’s Houthi rebels, killing at least one person. According to Houthi-run media, the attacks hit several locations, including Sanaa, al-Jawf, and Saada.

The U.S. military confirmed striking a key military site in Sanaa. Video evidence from the attack supports this claim. These latest strikes mark an escalation in military action under President Donald Trump, going beyond what was seen during President Biden’s administration.

The increase in airstrikes follows recent threats from the Houthis to attack Israeli ships. The rebels claim their actions are a response to Israel’s blockade, which they say is limiting aid to Gaza. However, the group has a broad definition of what counts as an Israeli vessel, raising fears for other ships in the region.

Since the airstrikes began, the Houthis have reported around 70 casualties. Analysts warn that unless the U.S. has a strategy to weaken the group’s hold on the region, the rebels may recover despite the ongoing attacks.

The situation in Yemen remains tense, with concerns that further military action could lead to more instability. As the U.S. continues its operations, the long-term impact on the Houthi movement and regional security remains uncertain.
